When I started my blog I had no idea where I was going with it. (Umm… acutely apparent!) All I knew, in the spring of 2015, that it was important to me to share my prolific stories about this craziness we call life from a Mrs., a Mom, and a Gracy’s perspective. It’s difficult to grasp that I’m 63, married (shockingly still holding), raised three almost perfect kids, and have four perfect grandchildren (thus far)! I’m all encompassed by my immediate family and “immediate” in laws…I delicately pretend to “care” when I don’t, and intently pretend not to “care” when I do! I’ll be eternally grateful… for my priceless material!
“Siri, play Baby it’s Cold Outside”. Unscrew my Simi, flip the switch on my fire place…and I’m all over it! Throw me my throw! The unsurpassed Holiday Season has come and gone and that’s the second best reason to curl up and write a blog.
This is the time of year my blogs are committed to expressing how much I despise shopping. Buying an abundance of socks, underwear, and gift cards are SO insignificant and I might add, senseless, to the most worthy. The Mall of Georgia is my rendition of hell. (Cheese wafer’s for everyone) This is the moment in time I relish in turning your attention to my annoying and lengthy tangent of how much I loathe resolutions! I’m going to start swimming daily at the Y…Oh for sure. I’m cleaning out closets tomorrow…Uh Huh! Drinking less at night…yea RIGHT! Shoot me, it ain’t happening, and we know it. Walk more, travel more, and call old friends more…conceivably til Feb. one and then we shall declare it a phenomenon!
2018… will bring tears of joy and indisputable sadness, but our focus should center on enthusiasm. A new beginning will compel us to have understanding (white house not excluded), an unwavering determination and a vivacious appetite for vitality! ( feasible or inconceivable?) OK …and drink more water #blahblahblah.
Happiness and good fortune doesn’t fall down the chimney once a year in a bright red suit being all jolly and nice. My flippant attitude has taught me a thing or two. Only good people can bring happiness and consequently good fortune. Gather around good people and I “resolute” they will bring you good fortune AND a bottle of wine!
You know…the Jolly and Nice ones!

Great minds think alike…NO RESOLUTIONS!
Gilda
Oh Tracy……my soul sister. I loved your blog even though I did not understand parts of it. I have to tell you I am quite a few years older than you and I gave up on resolutions long ago. So forget it totally. They are only a self destructive strategy. I must say I am jealous of you with all those great grands snuggled up with you. But if they are not snuggled with me,then I am glad they are snuggled with you. Were they allowed to eat cheese wafers in bed? Hehehe. Can’t wait til your next blog!
Tracy Gaines
Hi Gilda…cuddle time and wine time… A happy place for all Grandma’s! Peas in a Pod 🙂

Tracy,
I couldn’t agree with you more except we are the most blessed in laws! You don’t need to surround yourself with good people, we need to surround ourselves with you! May 2018 bring us lots of peace and a few new Deet Deets! Love u lots!!
Tracy Gaines
Everyone is getting new Deet Deet’s next year for Christmas! For those that don’t know…deet deet is Pay Pay’s baby banket that she literally sucks on while playing with the utmost important tag. btw…Whit still clings to his like a cat with catnip… sometime I think he actually purrs.
I call my glass of wine deet deet.
Carol
I hope I am included in the jolly and nice category!
Tracy Gaines
I’ll give you the “JOLLY”!
Lisa Aldridge
Tracy, I think you hit this one ” out of the park.” What you don’t understand is that other people’s joy comes directly from you! Love you so much and keep the fun coming even if you have to ” make it up!” Lisa
