49 years ago, today I got married.
I was 22.
No worries because I was living in the clouds…or possibly “in the dark”.
Naive and happy.
Parents don’t get to witness their children being adults…in so many situations. I have never seen Kelley teach. I have never seen Graham speak to a Nature Conservative committee, and I have never seen Neil make a sales call. We don’t get to see (or hear) how they talk to their spouse’s when they are alone, what secrets they have, or watch them sing and dance at a party a little bit drunk. And that’s ok. But it is also why we always see them as children.
They, on the other hand…only know us as Mom and Dad. But for a while, we were just kids too. Flirting, laughing, playing! Sometimes we got scared, and we had secrets too! And sometimes we even danced a little bit drunk!
Happy Anniversary to us.
We were a young boy and a young girl 49 years ago. We did not know where the road would go. Or care.
Happy Anniversary you two! Every day is a gift!
So true Jane…Writing sometimes helps me keep the eye on the ball! (Even on a bad day…I can find something to be grateful for…and friends like you are on the top of my grateful chart!)
Happy Anniversary to you two! I’m so glad I was able to share so many memories with y’all. Keep having fun and dancing drunk if you can dance . Love you!
Thank you, Carol!
I can still do a lot of things…in my head;)
And that is what matters. You were willing to take the future where it leads you.
Love is not about conditions but faith in each other.
None of us knows where life will take us but love and faith will help us travel along the smooth and rocky paths.
You are special Tracy. Remember that.
Love these kind words Nelli! Thank you for reaching out to me. It means more to me than you will ever know!
Happy Anniversary. Cherish the memories.
Laura
Thank You Laura…you are so kind! I cherish the memories and still trying to make as many as possible…they have definitely “calmed down” QUITE A BIT!
Happy anniversary to you and Gary! Love reading your blogs!
Thanks so much Judy…good for the soul!
Happy Anniversary Tracy and Gary! Miss you and think of you so very often. Much love. Sandy
I think of you more! I do miss my Lakeland buddies and hope to come see you all soon. In the meantime, keep smiling that beautiful smile of yours!
Happy, happy anniversary, Tracy and Gary! I have missed your blogs, but know your hands are full. Keep making those memories! You made wonderful children, too!
Carole
Thanks Carole! I have been writing a smidge just about every day…and someday I will post what I call, “My Thoughts”. It’s my way of clearing out some of the mud “up there”! Keep us “posted” on you and Whitey and those beauties we call Grandkids!
Tracey.. Jerry and I would love to see you and Gary!
Happiest of anniversary wishes !!
We are coming up on 39 years!
Time flies!!
We caught the good ones didn’t we Judy! Congratulations to you!! We would love to catch up with you as well!
SO glad John and I could be part of your journey for about 45 years now!! We have had a lot of experiences with love, laughter and a few instances of dancing drunk! Just know, we will always cherish those times and look forward to many more! ❤️
Raising kids, camping, hiking, canoeing, parties at the river, weddings, and funerals too! Trying to make John behave through all of it…not an easy task! JK…he brings all the laughter and snorting!!!
Happy Anniversary to you and Gary. One of Gainesville’s all time cutest and fun couples. I know this one is beautiful and special in a thousand ways.
I don’t think I have ever seen you when you were not smiling inside and out. So many times I enjoyed you and Gary and your pup pups walking down Valley, still looking like college kids. We felt so blessed to leave Gainesville with you guys in the VR house. I hope everyday you feel that sweet home wrap its arms around you both and keep on dancing in your heart❣️
What a sweet message Lynn. This home has been such a blessing to us. I’ll never forget walking by and saying, “let’s go see it”, with no intentions of buying anything. I think in a matter of days we were “in” and have felt nothing, but warm arms wrapped around us ever since!
Gainesville misses you both!
